If you arrive after the performance has started, an usher may ask you to wait until an appropriate break in the music before seating you.

When should I clap?

For many classical works, audiences typically applaud at the end of a complete piece rather than between individual movements.

Your program will indicate the different sections of each work, but if you are unsure, simply follow the audience around you. Enjoying the music is what matters most.

Do I need to know the music before attending?

Not at all. Many people attend classical concerts without knowing the music beforehand.

Can I take photos or record the concert?

Photography, video recording, and audio recording during Symphony in C performances are not permitted.
