Auditions Update – September 23, 2025
- All 2025 audition results emails and communications were completed by the end of the day on Tuesday, September 23.
- Several people have reported our results emails being directed to spam folders—please check there first.
- If you have not received an email by the morning of Wednesday, September 24, please contact jhart@symphonyinc.org.

Symphony in C is pleased to announce auditions for the 2025–26 season with Music Director Noam Aviel. Auditions are open to students pursuing a music degree at a college, university, or conservatory, as well as recent graduates.

Substitute List
- All orchestral instrumentalists are welcome to audition for the substitute list, depending on audition availability. Priority will be given to instruments with openings.
Auxiliary Instrument Note
- Audition time will include one solo piece and three excerpts total.
- If auditioning on an auxiliary instrument (e.g., English horn, piccolo, bass clarinet), please plan to perform at least one excerpt on that instrument.

Audition Repertoire
Strings
- One movement from a solo work by J.S. Bach
- Unaccompanied exposition of a Romantic concerto (or standard work)
Works should be contrasting in style. No orchestral excerpts required.
Winds and Brass
- Exposition of a solo sonata or concerto (unaccompanied)
- Three contrasting orchestral excerpts
- Auxiliary instruments must be demonstrated on at least one excerpt
Percussion

Scheduling begins in late August and is first come, first served until slots are filled. All instruments may audition for the substitute list, though priority is given to instruments with openings.
