Joanne Erwin

Joanne Erwin has enjoyed a career in music through her cello with all a myriad of opportunities. After completing music degrees at the University of Illinois and then a PhD at the University of North Texas, she has played in the Fort Worth Symphony, conducted the Fort Worth Youth Orchestras, taught public school orchestras and finally concluded her career at Oberlin Conservatory teaching conducting and string pedagogy. She was conductor and artistic director for the Northern Ohio Youth Orchestras and guest conducted orchestras in 20 states and 4 countries. In retirement she enjoys playing cello in the Philharmonia of Southern New Jersey and teaching private cello lessons.
