Carnival of Venice: A Romantic Musical Evening with Symphony in C

Carnival of Venice: A Romantic Musical Evening with Symphony in C

Symphony in C, the Mid-Atlantic region’s professional training orchestra based in Camden will host its annual gala concert and dinner, Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Grand Ballroom in Collingswood, NJ. This year’s theme is “Carnival of Venice.” Event chairs are Alexandra and Harry Wills of Somerdale, NJ.

Guests will enjoy the music, and culture of the great Venetian Republic, in this re-creation of Carnevale, which has been celebrated for centuries throughout Italy. This year, Symphony in C will honor one of South Jersey’s most influential and respected couples, Barbara and Jack Tarditi for their longtime commitment to the orchestra and its award-winning music education programs in Camden and the region.

Guests will enjoy regional foods and wine, while Symphony in C’s brilliant young musicians evoke the romantic Venetian spirit. Masks have always been a central feature of Carnevale, and guests are invited to come masked and costumed. A silent and live auction will be emceed by radio personality Ross Brittain.

Proceeds from the gala will support the Symphony’s educational programs, which include Symphony Summer Camp, Classroom Symphony, Concerts for Young People, and the Symphony in C Youth Orchestra. Disadvantaged students from Camden and the region attend these programs free-of-charge. Supporters of the gala at the higher levels will be invited to an exclusive Sponsors Thank-you and Season Preview Party in Spring, 2018.
